Extensive Training Meets Expertise
Larisa’s training in holistic care and herbal medicine spans 30 years, beginning with herbal apprenticeships in both western herbal medicine and Ayurveda, continuing through training in community acupuncture clinics, a 4-year Master Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the last 20 years of clinical practice.
Larisa continues to pursue advanced training in reproductive medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, and longevity, staying current with both Eastern and Western approaches.
Licensing

After completing a 4-year Master Degree, all acupuncturists in California are required to pass the California Acupuncture Board exam.

Although not required to practice in California, Larisa sat for both the state and national exams and continues to stay certified with both.

Founded in 2008, ABORM is an international organization pioneering best practices in acupuncture and traditional Chinese reproductive medicine.
Fellows are skilled Chinese medicine clinicians and educated researchers who contribute to the current body of knowledge with cutting edge innovations and integrative, evidence based care.

2002-2006: Five Branches University, Santa Cruz, CA - 4-year Master degree program.

1999-2002: Located in the Mission district of San Francisco, Quan Yin was a low-income community clinic providing treatment to a diverse range of conditions, with a special emphasis on Hepatitis C, HIV positive, and AIDS patients.
Larisa volunteered in the clinic, providing moxibustion, massage, and patient care prior to becoming licensed.

1997-2001: Apprenticeships and training in Ayurveda, Western and Native herbalism, including making herbal formulas, syrups and topicals, and wildcrafting herbs throughout Northern California.
