What Can Red Light Therapy Treat?
Red Light Therapy has many benefits, including:
Celluma LED Red Light Therapy
How It Works
Red light therapy, a form of LLLT (low level light therapy), is a non-invasive treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular repair. It can:
Stimulate circulation and the formation of new capillaries (blood vessels)
Reduce inflammation and swelling (edema)
Increase ATP levels (energy) within cells
Boost collagen and elastin production
How We Use It
At Healing Blossom, Red Light Therapy is an adjunct service included in fertility management and microneedling for skincare or hair loss. It is also used as needed for pain relief and other conditions.
LED near-infrared and red light therapy is a non-invasive treatment which can:
Boosts ATP production: more energy at the cellular level for egg and early embryonic development and growth
Increases blood flow: increased nutrient and medication delivery to developing eggs and follicles, as well as to the uterine lining (endometrium)
Reduces inflammation & pain: PMOS (formerly PCOS), endometriosis, and chronic stress are all pro-inflammatory conditions, which can negatively impact both egg quality and the uterine environment for implantation.
How Red Light Therapy Can Benefit Fertility
Why Celluma?
The Celluma device is safe, FDA-approved and supported by research for pain management, skincare and hair loss.
Celluma has the unique ability to contour close to the skin’s surface for increased light absorption and optimal therapeutic efficacy, making sure you get just the right dose.
Celluma is also an FDA-approved medical device, backed by research and clinical results.

-
Red light therapy is extremely safe when using a well-researched device under the management of a qualified health professional like Larisa. Knowing how, when and for how long red light therapy should be used is part of her training.
-
Yes, there are a few. Celluma cannot be used:
Over the abdomen or breasts of a woman who is pregnant or breastfeeding
Over a known cancer or tumor
On a patient with a history of epilepsy or seizures
On children or babies
It should also be avoided if someone is:
Using medications that increase photosensitivity
Using steroid injections
Lastly, there are a few genetic conditions that cause hair loss which Celluma is not appropriate for. If you have a genetic condition impacting your hair growth please contact us before booking.
-
Frequency varies according to the condition being treated and current goals. For skincare, generally 1-3x per week is recommended. For pain, daily use is appropriate. If recovering from a recent surgery it might be used more than once a day. For fertility it is more nuanced.
-
Each Celluma session is 30 minutes, generally used while you are receiving acupuncture or just after microneedling.
Some patients come in for additional standalone Celluma sessions.
