What Microneedling Does:
Microneedling is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries, triggering your skin's natural healing process.
These micro-channels signal the body to increase collagen and elastin production, improving skin elasticity. These are the two main proteins responsible for keeping your skin firm, plump and youthful.
Microneedling also stimulates the growth of new capillaries (angiogenesis) for enhanced blood flow to the skin, improving nutrient delivery and transforming your skin from dull to glowing.
Lastly, the micro-channels allow for a transient but dramatic increase in the absorption of any topical serums or medications, upwards of 300%.
Altogether, microneedling actually slows down the skin aging process, resulting in smoother, more radiant skin.
Collagen Induction Therapy
How Microneedling Works
What to Expect
DAY 1-3: Increased Serum Absorption
Peak absorption is in the first 60-90 minutes after microneedling but absorption is still greater than normal for the first 1-3 days. Skin may look and feel like you have a mild sunburn during this time.
DAY 5: Cellular Repair Begins
Skin is usually visibly refreshed. A fibronectin matrix forms after 5 days of injury that determines collagen deposition, resulting in skin tightening. This process continues for up to 7 years.
WEEKS 4-6: Skin Visibly Improves
Firmness and elasticity of skin start to increase
MONTHS 3-6: Peak Visible Benefit
Research has demonstrated up to 400% increase in collagen and elastin deposition at 6 months after a series of 4 microneedling sessions, 1 month apart.
YEARS 5-7: Collagen Induction Continues
Results persist for 5-7 years in the form of Collagen III.

Frequently Asked Questions

For skincare, we recommend coming in monthly, although you can go up to 6 weeks between sessions.
For hair the recommendation is every two weeks for 3 months.

Most people see noticeable improvements after 1-2 sessions, for both skin and hair.
FOR SKIN:
For lasting results, we usually recommend a series of 4–6 treatments, spaced about 4 weeks apart. Multiple treatments vastly increase the results. Results can last 5-7 years.
FOR HAIR:
Treatments are spaced 2 weeks apart, with a course of treatment being 6 sessions across 3 months. We will monitor your hair growth from the start to make sure we are seeing results.

Most people see noticeable improvements after 1-2 sessions, usually in the first 4-6 weeks.
-
Microneedling feels like a light prickling or scraping sensation, which is stronger on bony areas, like the forehead. A numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure comfort during your session.
-
Downtime is minimal. You may experience redness, similar to a mild sunburn for 12-24 hours. It is best to avoid using makeup or engaging in intense exercise (or sauna – anything that will create a lot of sweating) for the first 24-48 hours.
-
Yes — in fact, combining microneedling with acupuncture, nutrition, and/or herbal support enhances results by addressing both the surface and root causes of skin concerns
-
Yes — they can actually be complimentary, as long as you wait two weeks between any of these treatments and microneedling. Botox freezes the muscles to prevent the visibility of wrinkles while fillers add volume under the skin to reduce the visibility of deeper lines. Microneedling enhances your own production of collagen and enhances absorption of topical serums and peptides, helping to prevent the formation of new wrinkles while visibly smoothing and brightening the skin.
-
Yes! Microneedling can be used on most parts of the body. If you have a specific area or concern you would like to address, or have further questions, please contact us.

Unlike temporary fixes like fillers or Botox, the new collagen your body produces becomes a permanent part of your skin's foundation. This means the improvements you see from each session build upon each other, creating cumulative results that truly turn back the clock on your skin's aging process.
The same is true for hair loss. Microneedling stimulates dormant hair follicles to start growing new hair again, switching ‘on’ the hair growth cycle.
